Katherine Murphy

Katie is attorney and Judge Advocate in the United States Army Reserves in Birmingham, Alabama. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Georgia. Katie graduated from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in May, 2002. Since that time, she has worked as a court-appointed attorney for the Jefferson County Probate Court, as a Mediare Set-aside Associate for a large Birmingham firm, and as a contract lititgation support attorney on multiple mass tort/complext litigation projects concerning SEC and credit card fraud. Katie has always had an interest in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. She took several classes and seminars while in law school and completed the Lemmon Mediation Institute in the summer of 2000 and trained with Troy Smith in 2006. Katie continues to participate in mediation training on an annual basis. Primariliy, she mediates in divorce and family matters, but is open to any mediation.
